The Rotary Club of Clacton-on-Sea Essex are to arrange a concert 'Last Night of the Proms' at the Westcliff Theatre Clacton-on-Sea on 12th June 2009.

More information will be available shortly. 

We have now received £500. from our last two loads of recycling. Plus we are to receive some Government Credits, for undertaking these collections, from Tending District Council.

Please keep the recycling coming in as this is a valuable source of income to BCS.

Items we collect are:- clothes, shoes (even odd ones), handbags, belts, bedding (sheets blankets etc), curtains and towels. Unfortunately we cannot take anything containing stuffing like pillows or cushions.

Ten young people from the Tendring Voluntary Youth Action  Team are to undertake a Parachute jump for the benefit of Benin Christian Support. They are hoping to raise £300.00 each.

The proposed jump is at the end of June or beginning of July (depending on the weather).

On Friday 12th March 2009 at the Geisha Hotel, Clacton-on-Sea, Essex the Tendring Voluntary Youth Action Team are holding a 'Come Dine With Me' evening to raise much needed funds for Benin Christian Support. Tickets are £20. each and all proceeds will benefit BCS.

The Charity hospital we support in Benin is in urgent need of an incubator and have asked us if we can help secure one for them.

They had 8 babies in the baby wing weighing a kilo or less when we visited in November \'09. One of those babies Adam is now in our orphanage having reached the weight of 2 kilos.

At the moment they have only one incubator and are currently losing 3 babies a month due to this lack of facility.

We need to raise £800 to secure the surgery for a young lady in Benin.

She has only days to live without having a benign tumour removed. Already she is unable to speak as it is pressing on her voice box, shortly it will cut off her oxygen supply.

On Saturday 5th December 2009 at the Frinton Triangle Community  Centre we will be having a table in the Christmas Table Top Sale.

Debbie and helpers will be there showing all the Christmas \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'goodies\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' we have on offer.

Please come along and see if there is anything suitable as gifts for your friends and family. We have a good variety of items for sale including seasonal toys, clothes, books, decorations, toiletries, candles etc etc.

Sale starts at 9.30 am and runs through to 1pm.

Yesterday 12th September our third load of recycling was collected. We had collected so much that not all could be taken. So we have a good amount ready for the next collection. Well done everyone - just keep it coming in please.

Benin Christian Support also have a table in the Weeley W I Sale on 26th September 2009 which starts at 1pm.

The W I usually have a fantastic 'Homemade Cake Stall' so come and see for yourselves.

They are also great supporters of ours with lots of their members sponsoring children, collecting recycling and knitting. 

Jean, Brenda, Deniz and Debbie will be there so please make a bee-line for the BCS Table and see what we have on offer.     

On Saturday 12th September 2009 at St Philomenas School, Hadleigh Road,  Frinton-on-Sea there is a Table Top Sale between 10am and 12 noon.

Benin Christian Support have a table on which we will be selling lots of \'goodies\'. Other attractions are a Bouncy Castle and a B-B-Q.

Penny and Gill will be there so please come and have a chat and see if we are selling something you need.
